So it's just over two years to the day that our Arts Council funding was terminated. A horrible, brutal and sad period in this company's history - resulting in 7 staff members being made redundant and much pressure being placed on those who remained, not to mention the board, freelancers and volunteers.

Two years on and we are still here. Noto only that but we're continuing to make work which is innovative and of an exacting standard. We're currently delivering sessions in eight schools each week, working with eight evening groups to occupy public spaces, training young people in workshop leading skills, building the Fan Made Theatre project and about to explore and dramatise an important part of local history with the Grandchildren of the Blitz project.

Hats off to Shipra and Adam who have worked their socks off and huge thanks to the rest of our staff and freelancers who work with dedication and skill in some pretty unglamorous circumstances.

And huge thanks to the audiences, supporters and donors who have kept us going, not only with money but with messages of appreciation and stories of Bubble experiences that we didn't realise had impacted so strongly.

Here's to the future !

Time Flies

13/04/10: 2 years! How quickly time flies past. I still can't believe that the Arts Council will NEVER consider bringing the Bubble back in to favour! I could never tell the difference between Bubble shows and other theatre. Everything was going so smoothly, until . . .
The Bubble shows are always suitably complex stuff, entertaining and thought-provoking. And I'm not just saying that just for the sake of saying it. Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Night's Dream, the pantos, etc were enticing, to say the least.
I sometimes think how my amateur career would proceed in the absence of the Bubble. I would probably spend a lot of time at home in front of the telly!!
May the future bring good fortune. 'The best way to predict your future is to create it.'

Sirens of Titan

Mail sent to Jonathan Petherbridge
Sun 25th July 2010

Dear Mr Petherbridge,

Last night we saw Sirens of Titan at
Sydenham wells Park.
Just wanted to say what a great
evening we had...really really enjoyed it.
Loved the way we moved from scene
to scene in the park ( and passed mini performances
on the way), the hot chocolate, the \'goof ball\'.
Thought the whole show was beautifully presented,
very original, very detailed, amusing, thought provoking,
and I found bits very moving. I have to say also what
a very great writer kurt Vonnegut was....a real giant.
We felt if your show should be in an important inner london park
..it was that good.

Thanks a lot...look forward to next year.

i quite enjoyed some of it, but felt it wasnt up to usual standard,i have to say i woildnt go to LB again, ive seen 4 or 5 of their shows.. it was too disjointed, hard to follow, no clear theme..some nice touches liek little puppets, arch of fire, \'preacher\' in the bushes.. but sorry,LB,i will stick to regular theatre!

Interested in participating in an advert

Just received this from a casting company -
We are casting for a Nintendo Wii advert and we are looking for an exciting family who come together through their interest in playing the Nintendo Wii.

We are keen to cast parents and kids who have different and diverse hobbies but all share a love for Nintendo Wii. We were wondering if anybody in your community has a family who fit the above criteria as we would love them to get involved.

We are filming over the next couple of weeks and we will be closing our casting process by the 8th of September so if you know of anybody who would be interested please contact me asap on 0207 096 6606 or email me on coco@kreamlondon.com.
