Human Shield
13/11/10: Just thinking the other day that parents, by holding their children or bending over them (covering them) might have been 'human shelters' or human shields.
Contrast
Interesting contrast to use of Human Shield in Iran Iraq war.
Parent's Love
18/11/10: Wasn't aware of the meaning of HUMAN SHIELD - but now, yes, I see the contrast. A parent's love for his/her child can greatly surpass the threat of shrapnel, debris or fire.
Party & Oz
10/12/10: Had a great time at the party last night. The atmosphere was super - the frolic of the children present lit things up. I couldn't keep away from the cakes on offer - I'm afraid my dieting has gone down the chute! The attending elders made the evening even better. . . . The Oz performance grabbed my attention with its repetitive song & commited acting. Everyone in black, thus everyone in neutral, so to speak - and NO props. Hmmm - great approach to the whole thing. I'm sure my point about more space to perform in is on target. Think about it guys (if you're reading this! Ian?!) The actors spoke naturalistically and Joolz' quiet scared Lion was convincing. Good work guys and good luck for the future! . . . Quite enjoyed being a scared squid - loved it that kids recognised our movie. Thanks to Peth and all the Bubble staff. Onward march!

Lewisham 9-12's
the Lewisham 9-12's group are beginning to explore the Blitz theme tonight and they are starting by considering what it would be like to be in a shelter as the bombs were going off...maybe they should read Kathleen Metcalfes story on our website
