Looking Back on Dreams
01/10/08: It was, for me, a bit of an adventure. Staring with the workshops, where I sketched a picture of me sitting in a library and dreaming, where I wondered about familiar dreams, where I talked to a round white puppet . . . The intro to the kanashibari had me straining to fish for pleasant images or nightmares. Later, we got the scripts and began to look for characters to get to know. I became Malcolm - the big-hearted guy, in the studio. Later, he and Teacher and Death(!)were put under the microscope in the rehearsal room, and evolved show by show until the Cutty experience. During the shows I strove to do my best, after fasting during daylight hours, fought off paranoia in the dressing-rooms, projected my voice with a bit of effort, and tackled stage-fright like a little warrior! In the end, by the wide Thames, as the cool September breeze blew in our faces, I dreamt of glory days . . . Hats off to the Bubble.
Points (Another Look Back)
02/10/08: Hi. Points I might have raised if I attended forthcoming Bubble meeting: 1) More rehearsals are always better for me - we took a long break in August. 2) Better lighting in dressing-rooms - a good light is always required. 3) August is better for performances, since late September is cold. 4) Voice-projection training should be introduced, since it's always so much better if everyone on stage is clearly heard by all. 5) The Scoop is a difficult venue - the first Kanashibari looked less impactful behind the Scoop's blue light - we should practice more at the venue, before any show(s.) 6) Participants must learn to speak in an undertone when not on stage, to create a suitable atmosphere for the audience - silence is golden! Everybody whisper please, off-stage! Okay, I've run out of ideas. Nice to bicker for a while, anyway!
Point blank
Hi, this August would have been underwater, weather in late Sept was best we have seen this Summer. The long break in August allowed for family holidays, which helped make it easy for performers to be there when needed rather than absent due to holidays. I think it was more family centered. I really liked the two intense rehearsal slots and I think it produced a more focused performance. But I'd agree with most of your other points.
Points
Agree, we should have rehearsed longer at each venue. Plus, the kids should have been controlled more. At times I felt like the Bubble was supplying free day care.

We've now posted photos of the show and more information about those who were involved. Go back to the home page and click on the Urban Dreams link.
Urban Revival
02/11/08: Hello to all the Bubblies! It was nice to pop into the Bubble office the other day, chat to Peth, and choose pics. Real glad I'm in the two Urban D. scenes chosen for Peckham and Unicorn. Have to put in a lot of passion when I whisper 'youoooo' to poor Rosie! The George scene is also a good choice. I bet we can polish that up quite a bit - it could be more rhythmic, and more fluid. Hope everyone puts in their best effort. See you old Adults Tues. night! Ta-ta!
Sad News
04/11/08: Very sad news about Leslie. She was a special person. I remember moments shared. Her face will never fade from my memory. I remember her in the Niko scene - smiling, having fun. She held my head in a scene during rehearsals, hugged me after a show, talked helpfully one night . . . I can't believe she's no longer with us. I wonder what her son Tom is going through. I wouldn't be surprised if he can't make the George scene, at the Unicorn. May Leslie's soul rest in peace. I feel awful. I think, though, that she'd want us to be more committed to the theatre.
