INTERJECTION
Or a small girl?
Girl
Yep, I'm game. Bring on the little girl! And . . . any particular reason you don't like unrelated scenes/stories, Ian?!
Blinked
01/12/08: Oh yes. Bity and needlessly precious. Hmmm. Just a smidgen on the un-linked idea - maybe we can look at all our stories again, in any order and discover a thesis. Then, when we do the unrelated stories, we would know something that the audience would only guess at. Then the stories might appear to be SEEMINGLY unrelated.
stories
Appearance and reality. Things are not what they seem. Protagonist travels, observes, unpacks, reveals a sub-text.
The Aryans are not Aryan. The shop is no ordinary shop, the writer is not just researching his subject, the old person goes beyond the young man's imagination.Perhaps multiple protagonists, having a dialogue about what they see. Are children innocent?Penelope's view as she weaves, the mother in Hades - is he a hero? what price heroes? is the idea of liberation illusory? Theatre is an illusion. Back to appearance and reality. Ending on a question - what does the audience actually see? What is theatre? Why are stories told? Do these ideas help? need to see Jools' poem and to be reminded of all the stories. the Penelope image is becoming stronger as I think but I can't remember much about the story. See you all tomorrow.
BahEyod
Too many questions, what can our story be to add another.
Ian
Unrelated Stories
Don't think I have a problem with unrelated stories, but do think that if we put scenes in an order, people will read it as a sequence of events. I don't really think provenance matters. I just don't think the audience needs us to explain everything, let them do some work.
Poem story
Just thinking about the auteur idea! Interesting ............

Missing...
Hey, Sorry I wasn't there last night - got caught up at work. Will definitely be there next week and will bring chocolate to make up for it! What did I miss?
Faye, you . . .
03/12/08: Faye, you and Ian + Andrew missed the re-enactment of certain stories, with bits added by the story-teller who needed/didn't need to be an auteur (a dominant creative overlord of his/her story.) Before story-enactments, we explored physically being air, fire, earth and water. That feeling of being an element should be used in forthcoming acting sessions. We also read a typed-up version of Jools' poem - choosing to say out loud our favourite lines/bits.
