Mask making 14?
Why don't they want help from Malcolm, because he wants to give them sndwiches like those prim liberals who offer sandwiches to beggars up Southbank, when clearly they want a drink, always better to not give them anything if you don't approve of how they'll use it. My character seems a bit odd, he accepts a sandwich but more as an introduction, a start to a friendship. He is either the Messiah or very dodgy and not to be trusted. So am I playing a pervy social miss fit or some kind of mythical figure who is active in the dream time,Malcolm's Pysche, arch angel sandwich man? I'd rather it was the latter though that would mean we sandwich receivers & refusers are all shards of sad boy
Malcolm's unfullfilled wishes, desires etc. But that would make playing it more interesting or would it?
Oh yes is Mask making on on the 14th
Masking
Yes, Aya is leading mask making on the 14th.
Drink and Be Merry
14/07/08: Er, I could give you a drink too, if you like, Ian! I've got dosh, I can dish up. Am quite the opposite of a prim liberal - and not pretentious, I promise. I just want you to eat (and drink!) More like Mother Teresa - selfless - I'm honest! (Am not fit to rule Scotland, though!) Am a sad boy at the start, yeah. Should cry, really - rejected and seeing red (I mean black - I mean both!) Be a desire of mine Ian, and have a sandwich on me! There's a good boy! Friends?!
Pet Cemetery
You get weirder & weirder, less of the good boy, woof woof1
Woof Response
14/07/08: Less of the good boy? Oookay. Say, he (Malc.) WANTS to be kind and effacing - it's not first instinct. Howzat? And, Weird? - I don't know about that - maybe giving out sandwiches (or maybe just drinks) is becoming the norm - my strangers just don't know - both of them are bonkers!
Ow!
15/07/08: Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Squelch, squelch, squel - oh, it's not time yet! How did masking go?
Bring on the Dream Warriors!
16/07/08: Dreamers, hello! When a homeless person rejects your offer of kindness, you feel unloved. Definitely! I kept wanting one of the two to accept, so that I could watch them eat and imbibe, while chatting. They turned down FREE food - unbelievable! They're bonkers! May they become maggots of the Earth! Where are the Dream Warriors - bring me shoes or something - I'm frustrated!
. . . And . . . isn't there always a poem that plays out around whatever we do or say? A beautiful narrative . . .
And . . . I wonder how Linda/Eric's group are progressing. Gotta make me a mask, Aya!
Neko the Loser
17/18-07-08: Nearing midnight, all you Bubblies! Malcolm has common-sense - he gives a coat he's brought to Neko (I want to say they know each other. Have met before.) Quite like the idea that a tiny Dream Warrior gives Malc. le coat; gives the tiny Dream Warr. something more to do! There are two of them! Neko is a loser - when Malc. finds him. Then there's a shelter-giving bit. I want (as Malc.) to say, 'You don't have to live on the streets anymore, Neko. There's a home I can put you in, etc.' A happy ending, aaaah! And . . . at the outset, we sure did flesh out Neko's past + personality. Poor blighter, went from something to zero at quite a high-speed! And . . . heard masking went really well. Onward march!
Masks etc
Yes masks was good, especially peculiar feel of being cast, lots of volunteers needed on coming Tuesday.
Backstory work on Malcolm was fascinating especially negotiating shared image & hot seating.
Babble
22/07/08: The young folk's babble at the beginning: Should lines overlap or should they be one after the other, so that they're more distinct?
