Death
23/24-07-08: Peace to all Bubblers! Death chorus folk can be more vocal, right? Text says: They start to threaten Rosie . . . I love the 'Youoooo'. . . Maybe some vituperative stuff can be thrown in too, before the attack of the wicked chicken! Thanks to Linda for patient hard work. George . . . pay attention: Lesson one!
rehearsals
Really enjoying current stuff especially the really intense focus in the group work. If we could capture this in performance it would be breathtaking.
Breath
24/07/08: Breathtaking for us or the audience?!!
George
24/07/08: Hail all Bubble-blowers! More teachers will create a real chaotic school scene - with funny pedagogues handing back homework to over-worked teens! Quite a sweaty session for me - made me feel like I was finally working hard to perfect a role! Touching fellow actors and running about are an integral part of learning to act(!) George and his revolting wings - ugh! All set for Tuesday. Ready? Scared?!
I'm having difficulties adding to this Blog
Every time I try to add to this blog spot my message vanishes, not this time though?
Just wanted to say very impressed by younger members of Urban Dreams Cast. previous years have nothing on them.
Audience or cast
Audience or it is not worth a bean!
Focused
27/07/08: I too have a feeling that the group work is quite focused - 5% or 10% more than last year?! We have to talk to audiences to find out how we will have done - good or average!
I'm Still Asleep
29/07/08: Steady Bubble-lovers! Enter on cue Malcolm - there's a good lad! Would sleeping at the end of the story denote waking up? How, Peth? I think . . . We could all just jump out, as if from sleep's stupor, and look at one another . . . then go and greet the audience. Shallow idea?! And . . . Has Mohammad Z dropped out? How about Lucy S? And . . . I'm afraid of what? Tomorrow night, that's what!! May the Light bathe us all come evening - tomorrow! Good-night and dream away!
Don't
Please don't end the play with 'it was all a dream', better to sleep walk off.
Or should we represent the overall image of the sleep pattern iceberg in some way. weird stuff as usual form Peth. Not sure I buy some of the cod psychology to do with dreams. This stuff all seems fashionable and not necessarily true to life.
Sleep-walking
31/07/08: Greetings after midnight! Yeah, we could sleep-walk off - and the audience might be none the wiser! How on Earth is the audience supposed to guess that, in the play, we're in a dream-world?! There's no narrator to tell them . . . Perhaps we should just do our units and expect them to glimpse fleeting life in pieces, and that would be that. Is it absolutely necessary to convey to them that we frequent a dream-scape? Maybe not. And . . . We marched on last night to share our moments - it was musical! Malcolm should offer the maggots some piping hot pizza! THEN they'd jump up and accept!
