Campaign Update 24 January
Post date: Thursday January 24, 2008The latest on the Arts Council funding situation:
London Bubble's official repsonse to the Arts Council's letter was handed in on 14 January, a day ahead of the deadline.
The London regional council is meeting today (24 January) to consider the responses from all of the London organisations that are being recommended for a cut in funding. In time for this meeting, we delivered a package to the Arts Council offices - this package included copies of all the letters and emails of support that we've received, copies of letters that people have sent to their MPs, and a printout of all the fantastic messages that have been posted on our website and on Facebook.
This was an impressive pack of documents, displaying the amazing commitment that all of our supporters have shown to the company.
The timescale now is that the national council meets on 29 January to approve the Arts Council's final budget, and we have been told that we'll be informed of the final decision on Friday 1st February.
No matter what happens, London Bubble would like to thank everyone who's shown their support. We've received some incredibly powerful messages, and we hope that the Arts Council takes notice of all your voices.
