New Workshop Programme Launched

Post date: Thursday December 4, 2008

London Bubble has launched a new workshop programme on back of highly successful tour.

In the Summer of 2008 London Bubble toured the spectacular "Urban Dreams" to seven outdoor venues in South London. Set against the backdrop of the parks and public spaces of our city a cast of over 60 non-professionals used puppetry, physical theatre, live music, poetry and projected images to evoke the dreams of six city dwellers. Enjoying the best weather of the whole summer 1500 people saw the production over three weekends in September.

London Bubble are now starting a new programme of drama workshops and want you to get involved. Classes for 6 to 8's, 9 to 12's, 13 to 17's and adults over 18 will be happening at the Bubble Headquarters in Rotherhithe.

The Bubble are also launching new groups for 9 to 12's, teenagers and adults in Forest Hill, Lewisham. The groups are friendly, fun and led by experienced theatre makers who help people develop their performance skills in a safe and supportive environment. Members of all ages will also have the chance of performing in one of Bubble's large scale outdoor shows.

Creative Director, Jonathan Petherbridge said "Urban Dreams was a beautiful and complex piece of theatre. Performed at night and set against some stunning backdrops - like Tower Bridge or Canary Wharf - the show animated each setting and cast a spell over the audience. The response was fantastic and the cast came together and grew with each performance. This is what the Bubble is about providing the opportunity for Londoners to make and perform work on their own patch."
