Thoughts and comments

It's cold today. But it's nice to think ahead to what the summer might bring. If you'd got musings about how Bubble should animate open spaces this summer - get posting.

Animation

17.01.10: It's relatively less cold today - and the thought of summer is tempting. To walk without a heavy coat on - through the grass of sundry parks, to feel a gentle soothing breeze on the face, to see something eye-catching, hear something that seems enticing - all of that has lasting appeal. And all of it can be found in a Bubble outdoors production.
I was thinking, the other day, that fiction does something unusual every time - it works with words, images and action we know from everyday life - but also tweaks reality a bit. Fiction can be realism. But also clever fantasy. How about a story that jogs the imagination? Informs and entertains?

Stevenson and I

18.01.10: I should start writing a play that I can sell to all you gullible ones! Just a matter of time before I take pen to paper, I guess . . .
Meanwhile, I'm pining to see the Bubble do something by Stevenson.
Treasure Island?!

Abstract

20.01.10: I wonder whether a purely abstract piece would work, if we tried that in '10. I know Peth loves story-telling - but maybe a totally abstract play might appeal to a sophisticated audience. I would love it if we went all abstract. I'm just on the cusp of devising an abstract play myself. Hope it takes off.
Feel like Robinson Crusoe or Alexander Selkirk - marooned on this message-board, waiting to be read, thus rescued!! I bet all interested parties are out hunting for friends to join - best of luck!

Work in Progress

22/03/10: Hello, all! Have been writing my play SUMMER'S FUN and I have completed 2 of 8 scenes. Certain summer objects (Hamper, Blue Sky, Deck Chair, Bottle, Green Tree and so on) mingle and have fun. Then comes Rain who's a bad character, and he upsets them. So they get rid of him. Then they fall out with one another . . . I'm hoping to complete my piece well before the closing date for proposals - so that Peth & co. can read it 'early.' Wish me luck! . . . The other proposals are fresh and original. I've read Galapagos (years ago) - it's a fab book.
