My Home

What makes a place feel like home?

Maybe it's an orange carpet, or feeling the presence of other people, minding their own business in other places.

What is London like as a new home? Maybe it's a place where the people look like blue-eyed dolls, who kiss each other in the street, and the shops sell bananas that smell of nothing.

My Home was a piece of verbatim theatre that told the true stories of people who have travelled from Poland, Somalia, Kurdistan and Vietnam to make London their home, using their own words. The audience experienced contrasting perceptions of ‘home', as they moved from room to room within a house.

Hearing stories of departure and arrival, memories, and plans for the future.
