We care about who gets to make theatre, see theatre and whose stories get told.
At London Bubble we believe that everyone has a right for their stories to be seen and heard without limitations.
By promoting equal access to arts and culture for those who face barriers, we strive to diversify the theatre sector so that it is more inclusive and representative of our society.
Our practice celebrates marginalised communities and advocates for underrepresented voices, and most of our work takes place in non-theatre settings engaging with people who may feel that theatre or the arts sector are not ‘for them’.
Our activities are FREE so that finance isn’t a barrier for those taking part
Our work is inspired by Brazilian theatre maker Augusto Boal’s ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’, using FORUM THEATRE techniques to help people speak on the issues that matter most to them. We explore power imbalances and challenge structural inequalities recognising how they intersect in complex lived experiences.
We create POSITIVE LASTING CHANGE in people’s lives, and show our members that they are valued.
We design projects with social and emotional wellbeing in mind because CARE is at the centre of our work. We adhere to John Burnham’s ‘Social Graces’ model and prioritise engaging people who have experienced adversity and barriers because of their social ‘graces’.
