From November 2003 until July 2004 London Bubble worked with Crampton Primary School in Walworth, South East London to develop a creative partnership funded by a scheme of the same name.

This was a true partnership in that we consulted with the school to identify their needs and gaps in provision. The school felt that with the introduction of the Literacy Hour, too much time had been spent focussing on reading and writing and not enough on speaking and listening. It was agreed by both parties that drama was an excellent way of developing speaking and listening skills for children as well as being a medium that could be mapped to the DFES (Department for Education and Skills) objectives.

Once the funding for this work finished and had been deemed successful by both parties, London Bubble sought funding through the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to work in Primary Schools in the Rotherhithe and Bermondsey area.

From 2007 – 2009 Creative Literacy continued with funding from the Sir John Cass Foundation.
