About National Theatre Connections
Each year the National Theatre invites ten writers to create new plays for young people to perform. In spring 2014, 230 youth theatre companies present the premieres of these plays in venues across the country, and Bubble is one of them.
Each company performs their play on their home turf, as well as at one of 26 Connections festivals in professional theatres across the country.
Ten companies will go on to perform at the National Theatre.
Connections celebrates great new writing for the stage – and the energy, commitment and talent of young theatre-makers.
Our youth theatre group have been developing their production of
‘A Shop Selling Speech’ by Sabrina Mahfouz.
There a robbery in a newly opened shop in Cairo, Egypt.
What’s being stolen? Speech. Can the robbers succeed?
Can the staff stop them? Should they be stopped?
The group shared their work at their home performances in March and at Greenwich Theatre in April.
