Punchkin, Enchanter was London Bubble’s second Open Performance Theatre project (after Gilgamesh in 2000).

These projects involve a large ensemble of participants of all ages, drawn from the communities of South East London, working and performing alongside professional theatre-makers. Almost 150 people were involved in the creation of the production, which was seen by more than 4000 people in parks and woods across London.
The idea behind London Bubble’s OPT projects is to unite the various aspects of the company’s work into a single, high-profile celebratory project.

Punchkin, Enchanter provided an opportunity for existing participants from various projects to work together, whilst providing an entry point for newcomers who will hopefully go on to work with the company in other ways, just as the participants from Gilgamesh in 2000 did.
