Update

Friday 18 March 2011 Just a quick call-out to teenagers – if you can only make one of next week’s two rehearsals, be great if you could come on Wednesday, not Thursday. But of course it would be even better if you could come to both! And we are now officially fifty days away from the first performances and sold our first 13 tickets today. Whahey!

And so the story begins. The adult and child observe each other, before the bustle in Tesco ensues. The small-width stage is bound to colour our movements – and so we must learn not to step on one another’s feet! I and my family plus lodger must learn to live in Number 7, not 8! Easy enough! Cher Hendry & I discuss how best to tackle the issue of my hyperactive children. The radio announces the advent of WAR. The storm clouds gather. We must proceed with resolution & courage, as the blackbirds fly overhead, heedless of danger. Onwards!

I, and my family + lodger, must get used to calling our house ‘number 7’ – shouldn’t be too difficult! Soon, it will b time for resolution & action. Onwards!

Today was fun. The fine tuning and detail of the Teddy Bears Picnic session looks like it could be really tell lots of little stories that will give the audience a sense of all the little incidents and which if we get it right will seem natural and observed. I’m trying to keep it particular and real as otherwise I’ll just look like I’m going through the motions which considering where the men finished up is quite apt. Peth seemed particularly animated. Twinkle toes dancing around and directing the girls and boys (?) and the lightness did seem to lead to playful focus.
The question section sounded like it was really going somewhere though the repeated how and cope chorus work will take a lot of revisiting. The. Peth’s chat last week about focus seemed to pay off. Some of us are cycling up for the March after Saturday’s workshop on grooming.
