Theatre Training Project 2000 – 2001

Reasonable Grounds brought together a group of 14-15 year olds for 3 months to work with Bubble facilitators Sylvan Baker and Sophie Gibson on exploring what they knew about the police and how they felt about them.

The group met with police officers of various ranks, went out on patrol with them and interviewed the Deputy home Secretary, Paul Boateng. They took all the information they had acquired and created a short performance piece that illustrates some of the issues.

The piece toured to schools and community venues in South East London in March 2001.

The finished performance piece was also be used as a discussion resource designed to bring the young people into the debate of what exactly are the requirements for a police force in the 21st Century.
