Our Practice

At London Bubble Theatre, we co-create original plays by working collaboratively to devise stories and characters. The action and the lines spoken are decided by the people involved during the process (rather than in a script which has already been written), taking inspiration from imagination and lived experience to explore themes that matter to our communities.

Bubble Associate Artists are multidisciplinary theatre makers who utilise games, writing, acting, improvisation, movement, poetry, music and storytelling techniques to create evocative contemporary theatre with a socio-political twist.

Our practice celebrates marginalised communities and underrepresented voices, most of our work takes place in non-theatre spaces, engaging people who may not feel that theatre or the arts sector are ‘for them’.

Learn about community and workplace partnerships:

Any profit goes directly towards our charitable costs, delivering free drama projects for vulnerable children, young people and older adults. Through upskilling your workforce, you are also giving back to the local community.

Our Artistic Director leads a team of artists who represent the diversity of London, particularly our home borough, Southwark, and have lived experience of the themes we are addressing.

Many of the artists employed are 18-30 and ‘home-grown’, having trained with us as Bubble Young Theatre Makers.
