The Life House Project
An Animated Film on LGBTQ+ Housing For Older Adults
We want to better understand the housing and social care needs of older LGBTQIA+ adults.
The Life House Project brought together LGBTQIA+ older adults to share their perspectives of living in housing and social care.

Throughout March, participants were invited to join a series of drama workshops where they devised a script and some poetry to create an inspiring animated film which will be shared with friends and family in the summer.
Sessions were held at London Bubble Theatre and were led by theatre practitioners and researchers, who explored themes using storytelling and poetry, and practiced oral performance techniques with our older adults.
Voice recordings capturing their stories have been made and will form the foundation for their short animation, which will be shared soon.
The project has been a fantastic experience for everyone involved! Participants have enjoyed the chance to share their experiences, connect with others, and creatively explore stories of home, housing, and care as LGBTQIA + elders.
