  • Introducing Cohort 16

London Bubble’s Young Theatre Makers Programme opens its doors to 12 new budding young people that have all taken an interest in the arts spectrum: singing, acting, drama facilitation, Fine Art and music production.

In the opening week (24th-26th), our young people spent the time getting to know one another through a variety of drama games which got the group energised and buzzing with excitement. Following this, we introduced improvisation; improvisation is drama technique in which the actors create content/story unplanned or unscripted. This gave the cohort an idea of how we will be creating our play from devising off set stimuli and the emerging improv. The group really enjoyed the activities and some really creative stories were told through these sessions.

In week 2, our YTMs started to focus on devising techniques and using a stimulus e.g. pictures or poems from which to create a story. These skills will be helpful later on in the program when we begin to create our piece. These sessions are led by professional facilitators including Marie Vickers (Project Leader, Young People’s Programmes), (Adam Annand (Associate Director, Bubble) and an external facilitator.

We are now entering week 3 and programme onboarding has officially closed. The group is fixed! Introducing cohort 16…
