‘When Sophia likes a picture on Instagram, she has no idea of the trouble it will cause. A quick decision made in the palm of her hand soon catches up with her in at school and at home. Unsure who she can trust and who her friends are, Sophia switches off from the real world and seeks solace on Facebook, only to find that life online can be equally cruel.’

Over this past week when creating the show we have been looking into the politics of social media, focusing on the issues that were brought to light during our foraging workshops. Creating our characters, we started to see how important social media was in their lives, looking at how it can affect friendships, relationships and rumours. Through Sophia, we meet Nadia, Beki, Sarah and TJ, delving into the characters’ lives to see how social media can affect them and their choices…
