OUR IMPACT

At London Bubble, we promote equal access to arts and culture for those who need it most and are committed to building a theatre sector that is inclusive and representative of London communities.

Our projects offer a space where people are listened to, accepted and valued a member of society. We have worked with individuals aged 6-100 and through our programmes we create lasting, positive change in people’s lives, increasing their social and emotional wellbeing and developing their self-esteem.

Measuring Our Success

We want our resources and services to be sustainable and meaningful for the communities we engage with. It’s important for us to find thoughtful ways to understand our impact and are committed to tracking the long-term success of our work through surveys, testimonials, self-reports and case studies.

We pride ourselves on evaluating the effectiveness of our practice with our team and community partners, discovering new ways we can develop our programmes, expand our reach and create more opportunities for employment in the Arts.

The legacy of our members long-standing connection to us is represented in the diversity of our workforce:

30 %

of our staff team are previous members from young peoples and intergenerational projects.

20 %

of our staff and associate artists are Young Theatre Makers almuni.

40 %

of Young Theatre Makers go into employment and training after the programme is complete.

Thanks to our recent partnerships with the London Museum, Westminster Libraries and Camden Council we have also been able to grow our geographical range and connect with children in outer London boroughs.

Our members and practitioners report that taking part in our projects leads to feeling more connected, motivated and self-aware. With care at the centre of our work, we listen closely to how our work impacts people through their own words and experiences.

The stories they about how they we have helped them increase their self-worth, feel more valued and connected in society make us extremely proud. They highlight the transformative power of theatre and the arts, and how our work helps build hope in people’s lives.

It’s changed how I think about myself and value my capabilities. I’m learning new things about myself and my character. [Tea Break Theatre] helps you come out of your shell and is almost like a kind of therapy as well!

I haven’t in my theatre making career so far, ever felt so supported by a company and venue like Bubble. They have kept the door wide open already and done a lot more for me than other theatre spaces.

I’ve fallen in love with Bubble. Not just the work you do but the way you genuinely support people like me.

Bubble has always made our grandson feel supported with his additional needs. He has a lot of fun at Bubble projects.

Our practice celebrates marginalised communities and underrepresented voices, most of our work takes place in non-theatre spaces, engaging people who may not feel that theatre or the arts sector are ‘for them’.

We co-create original plays by working collaboratively to devise stories and characters with children, young people, early-career artists and older adults. The action and the lines spoken are decided by the people involved during the process, taking inspiration from imagination and lived experience to explore themes that matter to our communities.
