Create your lantern for our community procession around SE16.

Illuminate Rotherhithe is a celebration of our community’s history. It takes place from 22-26th November 2018 and includes free events – talks, films, music and dance. The festival will be launched on Thursday 22nd November with a free community lantern procession, led by London Bubble. Anyone can learn to make a lantern and bring it to the procession which will take place in SE16.

In the build up, we are running a series of free lantern making workshops which are suitable for everyone aged 6 or over.
(Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult)

The lanterns are made from withies covered in PVA coated tissue. They take time to make (but are very satisfying!) so you need to be able to stay for the whole length of the workshop.

Thank you to everyone who has come to a workshop and made a lantern this year so far.
The workshops have been very popular and we are now fully booked for the workshops on the final weekend before the procession.
If you would like to join us on either date, please email georgiac@londonbubble.org.uk  or call 020 7237 4434 to see if there is space.
Saturday 17th  November, 1-4pm and Sunday 18th November, 1-4pm at London Bubble.

Find out more about the procession on November 22nd and book your free place here.

We are also looking for volunteers to support the workshops and lantern procession.  If you’re interested in volunteering, there’s more information here or get in touch with georgia@londonbubble.org.uk

This is part of our Charting the Mayflower project.  More information about how you can get involved here.
